I am looking to replace my headlight bulbs...I currently have stock and hate their yellowness, especially with the contrast of my PIAA fog lights. My dilemma is what brand to get...PIAA, Osram, Sylvania?? My Friend says go with Osram as they are the best quality and to get them from the UK. Another source disagreed and said they'd definitely go with PIAA....they personally had them and were very happy. Any suggestions??

here is a pic of my silverstars, I love them,
alot more light than stock and in a cool whiteish blue light, I have gotten several comments on them from friends...
do a search there are better pics than this but just to give you an idea,

What type of PIAA lights do you currently have?
I had PIAA something-or-other (superbrights?) in my M3 and they were just overpriced crap. They lasted maybe 6 months before they blew out. I started using Philips Bluevisions which weren't all that blue and they're only $6 each but they were hard to find. I found out that Kmart had them.
The silverstars are about $20/pr.

Sounds dumb....I know, but I don't exactly know what kind I have. They were on my 4Runner when I bought it. They look like the ones in this link....

They do have a slight blue to them...but not much.
BTW...I am a new 4Runner owner!! I bought a 2002 SR5 4WD. Love it!! It's pretty stock right now, but I have SO many mods I'd like to do. Just have to save the moola! I'm sure I'll be posting quite a bit for advise from you wise ones!

I've heard the Osram Silverstars are better than the Sylvania ones. I have the Sylvanias in my car currently and really like the output. It has a nice color (not too blue, but not too yellow) and are pretty bright. Compared to other halogen-equipped cars, they're great, but when compared to HID's, they don't even come close. The bulbs don't last as long though. I took mine out a while back and the silver on the tip of the bulbs had already started cracking. They still work, but don't expect them to last as long as regular halogens.
IMO, PIAA's are nice but just too expensive.

If you are looking for a HID look go with the Piaa's. I had Super Plasma GT-x in my 01' Civic and I always had people asking me if they were HID. I have Silverstars in it right now because I had a Piaa blow out and don't want to spend the money since I will be trading it in on a 05' 4runner sport sometime soon(I hope). Piaa's are expensive and they do have a tendency to blow after a 6 month period, not all do. Had this last set for over a year and the low beam went out only on one side, but they look real nice at night. Silverstars are nice, and a lot cheaper, but I just prefer the HID purple/blue tint. I don't know what the Silverstars burn at but the Super Plasma's have a 5500k on the Kelvin scale. Raybrig and Polarg have nice bulbs for slightly cheaper price then Piaa's

After going through a couple sets of the Silverstars... I decided it was time to go HID. Got a 9006 kit from XenonDepot and I love it. The silverstars looked ok.. but the light just wasn't as intense as I wanted, and didn't really do well when it was wet out. The HID kit is amazing, just like my S2000 with its standard HIDs. I'll try to get pics up soon.

on my 96 4Runner, my Supra, and now my 2005 4Runner with absolutely no problems and GREAT light...plus they are only like $10 a pair......call them cheap if you want, but they produce AWESOME light and I have not needed to replace any of them yet...I have them as low, high, and fogs.
The corner lights are LED's from superbrightleds.com (gives it a nice look when just the parking lights are on)

Also, they are not blue at all...just a really pure white...I dont like the blue ones either...and I was so satisfied with them on my 96 4Runner I replaced all the lights on my Supra with them, my brother had them on his Stealth, and now on his 05 Legacy awd turbo, my mom has them on her Grand Marquis and now I have them on my 05 4Runner You could always try a pair...they are only $10
they offer the different K's like 5800k and 5100k...my brother found that he has to use the standard wattage in his fog lights due to heat issues...but I've been running the higher wattage ones in my vehicles with no problems
