headlight bulbs for that HID look?

So what are the best bulbs to put in to give me that bright white color HID look?

Ive seen people with PIAA and silverstar? and a few others...

what brand do I want, wheres the best place to buy, and how many watts?

The stock wiring won't handle over 55w so be careful.

I like my Silverstars which now have almost 3 years on 'em but they are just so-so in the wet so I augmented them with a set of Hella Yellowstar bulbs in the factory fogs.

I now have set of Ultrastars ready to go in but i may wait a few months and then make a comparison between the two.
 
don't buy the "cool blue" ones from your local wal-mart. i think Sylviana makes them? not sure but they look about the same as stock to me and don't give a blue look at all.
 
Luminics is the best brand if you want that HID look, I've got pure blue. They make Hyper White & titanium white as well. But I believe I'm about to upgrade to 8k HID's..

Yeah man, if you're going to get some, get them from eautoworks.com For some reason the luminics website would never let me order, but they ma have fixed it...
 
I can get the "luminics" bulbs for you guys. Just email me. I can get just about anything these days.

Let me guess,

By going with the Luminics Fo_Sheezy mentions, one will lose much sight or potential viewing capability?

Isnt it true the higher the kelvin and the bluer the bulb the more this light output diminishes?
 
so because they are blue they are not as bright?

and Jason if i ordered some clear corners from your site with the PIAA corner bulbs will they have that blueish tint to them?
 
look for an order late tonight or tomorrow morning. i'm probably gonna order my clear corners and a pair of the piaa corner lights to go along with them.

possibly your vent shades as well....

True, the luminics pure blue are not that bright, but I can see just fine with them. They are easy on the eyes, but they make your ride look bad ass.

Also, what percentage would you personally say your light output diminishes as compared to a pure halogen bulb, such as sillverstar or sylvania has to offer? Give us a percentage please?

Well I would sell these to you, but I already promised a friend he could have them when I get my HID's.. About the same light output I would have to say as a stock halogen, it's just that these aren't as bright because they have a more blue tint. I've had Silverstar ultra, cool blue, Eurodezigns, and out of all the headlight bulbs these Luminics have been my favorite. And I've got so many compliments on them and you really stand out at night.. lol
 
i know this is an older topic but i'm considering getting these bulbs now

right now i have the cool blue bulbs which really arent that bright to me... would you say the luminics bulbs are about the same? i'm thinking they will look good with my clear corners once they get here..

also it says on the eautoworks that the lights are not legal for street use lol, is this true?

These luminics pure blue bulbs are blue as hell, if you get them and install them you will be like... "Damn those are really blue." Because I was shocked out how blue they were and I love them, but they aren't the brightest bulbs, because instead of white light output it's more of a blue light output which is easier on the eyes. And they are 100% street legal.
