Headlight restore kits.

Anybody used more than one and liked one better than the other? I used Sylvania last time and it wasn't horrible but wasn't awesome either. I'd like to try something else but I have a sneaking suspicion that they're all pretty much the same. I'm thinking about picking up the Mothers this time just because it has a neat ball sponge for your drill so you don't have to spent 3 hours sanding by hand.

I have used the Turtle Wax kit on my 2005 Volvo XC90 and for the amount of time I spent on it by hand it turned out great. I did not have polisher at my disposal when I did it, so it would be perfect. I intend to go over them again with polisher when it is not Africa Hot here in AZ.

I've used Turtle Wax twice (on a Tundra) and I just got another TW kit that i'll be using on the 4Runner.

It's $6 at Wal-Mart and it's "ok." The first step (most abrasive) is the most important on any kit. Spend the most time there. What I recommend is doing the 3 sandpapers, using the "compound" that's included, and then buffing for yourself with either toothpaste or Meguiar's Ultimate Compound if it's still not perfect. Then use the Meguiar's on the rest of the truck

Seriously though I've seen comparisons with Ultimate Compound, even without sanding. It's made for paint but it's multipurpose. An $8 bottle will last a long time for paint and headlights.

The "sealing wipe" is useless. The first time I followed the box to a T and it yellowed a year later. Put some wax on or some other coating.

If you don't have a DA polisher then yes, Mother's Powerball looks pretty cool. I've just never used it.

The guys over on my.IS use crystal view little expensive but it has the sealer that keeps it from going bad again . I didn't learn about it until after I used the turtle wax , it was ok but can see already going again . I think it's only online not sure though ?

I used toothpaste and it worked wonder.
