Headlights - 1998 - Is there an alterative?

Does anyone know of any replacement headlights for a 1998 4Runner I could get that would clean up the look of my truck?

I know that the 1999-2002 versions are a little different and seem cleaner. But I doubt those would fit on my 98.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if this thread already exists somewhere.

I think the unfrosted lights are a direct bolt on replacement to our frosted lights.... correct me if im wrong :bash:

I'm slow - so just to clarify, I can put 99-02 headlights on my 98?

yep, i bought mine and expect them in next friday. A deffinite upgrade to your front end. The newer clear headlights make it look ALOT better, and newer. Also you could install clear corners, clear turn signals and a grille from an 01' or the grille from the 02'

Awesome. I've already got the clear corner and bumper lights and would love to get rid of the old dull headlights.

Any recommendation on where to buy?

I also could never figure out how to remove those headlights either.

to get to your lights:

remove the grille, its held in place with clips, use a screwdriver and pry carefully. theres about 8 of them or so. then remove your corner lights, they pull straight forward to get them out. use a little force to get them. then you can access all the bolts and screws, 4 per headlight, and take them off. installation opposite of removal.

yea dont be confused about the 2 metal clips on the top of each headlight, it has nothing to do with the removal of the headlights or the housing.

for the cheapest price you can check on ebay, i found mine for as low as $85 plus $7 shipping per light, just double check that your buying the factory headlight and not an aftermarket one. JDM makes a set that has black backgrounds to the head lights and the cornerlights but they had to take those apart to paint them and the light beam and cutoff points are no good.

If your paying under $200 including shipping for both headlights, then your doing good!
