I noticed that my headlights are always on when the car is started regardless of time of day and when my headlights are switched to off. I don't have auto headlights. Is this normal functionality?

Read this thread for information on how to add or disable DRL's for 4th gens. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2378&perpage=15&pagenumber=4NathanOfSeattle said:Ok, how do I disable it?
So for my 2000 4runner, I don't have to do any wire cutting? Do I just unplug something?xStePheNyz said:thanks for that link....a question: if i don't care about putting in a switch to control the DRL's but just want them off permanently, can I just unplug the relay, or do I still need to cut the yellow-black wire, and re-ground the other wire into pin 2? This would be for a 2001. I wish ours was like the 2000 and just had some black box next to the battery.
I am not a mechanic and not a big fan of cutting wires.

hey guys, does a '99 fall in the "cut the wire" or "unplug it" category?
Pretty sure you can unplug something in the engine bay that'll disable your DRLs..
