How can I stop the lights from coming on with the key please?

Thanks. That thread has info BUT, as usual, the images are gone.
What is the DRL module? Where is the DRL module?

DRL = Daytime Running Lights. The module in the pictures (I can see them) show it to be between the battery and the sheet metal of the engine bay. There's a gray coupling. Disconnect it. Done.

Okay. This is something I'd like to do too so I'm glad I'm following this thread. I don't know why you weren't able to see the pics though.
The pics in the other forum are gone. Are those the ones you can't see?
Have you looked under the dash by the gas pedal like someone said?

If you want to start the truck with the DRLs off, but don't mind them coming on when you begin driving, just pull the parking brake before turning the key.

You should be using the parking brake regularly anyway! It is how the rear brakes are auto-adjusted.

Guilty - but I'm sure there are millions just like me. You're right, though, and it also keeps drum brakes from binding up over time. Just thought maybe OP wasn't aware of the e-brake connection to the DRLs.

I rotate tires every 6k miles, check brakes then. Hardly ever use E-brake shoes always needed a bit of adjustment.
Would do the hold button in pump handle back to 7 clicks to set brake when I thought about it.
6k miles ago started using E-brake pretty much always, is a habit now. Rotated tires past Saturday good to go.
For 19 yr brake wear has been 2:1, 2 sets of pads to 1 set of shoes using E-brake seldom if ever.
Could it go to 1:1 with longer life with four corners working correctly all the time, time will tell.

Got a picture of that for 01-02 T4R's? Where is it located?
I am not as familiar with the 01-02 but from what i can find on alldata for the 01-02 they are calling it diode (daytime running light NO.1) D12. With that said I have never just unpluged said on a 01-02 to make sure its as simple as the 96-00 that use a resistor... The diode is located up behind the passenger air bag from what the pic shows.
FYI another member on here said it was located under the steering wheel but i have no 1st hand knowledge.
