Headrest DVD installation problem with power

Hello,

I have an ‘07 SR5. I recently purchase a pair of headrest dvd player from flebay. I installed one in my MDX. Powers up and everything is working great. I installed the other in my SR5, I keep blowing the filter that is attached to the player. The filter is a 12V 2amp. Initially, I tapped into the cigarette lighter. That did not work. Then I tapped into the power cable from behind the radio. That did not work. I then changed the fuse into a 5 amp. That did not work.
I cannot figure why it keeps blowing my fuse. Please note that the same player is working fine in my Acura MDX.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like you have a short some where.

Have you tried swapping the DVD headrests with the one in the MDX? If the fuses continue to blow in the 4Runner and doesn't in the MDX, more likely than not, the short is in the wiring harness that's in the 4Runner.

thanks for your reply.
The fuse did not blow in the MDX. A short in the toyota's wiring harness makes sense. How do i identify where that short is? I tapped into the cigarette lighter and back of the radio, both blew the fuses. the only thing i did not change was the ground wire. With the ground, I tapped into the body of the car by the gear shift on both occasion. could the short be with the ground? If this was the case, where should i tap the ground?
Thanks a bunch.
