heat not getting hot

so today i turn on the heat and it never got hot only lukewarm. i went home and flushed out my heater core thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't. both of the heater core hoses feel the same worm but are they suppose to be hot like to hot to touch.

Yes they should be hot depending on how long you drove it do you have a thermostat?

Yeah. When I drove it home from school that's a 15 mi drive and my heat was still lukewarm. My engine temp guage hangs just below half.
