Heated Leather Seat Problem

I have a 2003 Limited with heated leather seats. The passenger seat heater has stopped working. Is this an easy fix or not?

Please help.

Easy fix? Depends on what is not working. Replacing a defective switch would be easy - working on the actual heating elements in the seat would not.

I have the same issue with my 04, I do have current to the switch, and to the plug under the seat, my geuss its the element, but Im NOT a mech. as long as my seat works Im good :biggrin2:

Rockwall,

My problem is similar ... driver's side seat heater does not get warm, but the light on the switch turns on; passenger side works fine.

I had my mechanic do some troubleshooting for me today while my T4R was in for some service. He traced my problem to the control sub-assembly seat heater (basically the ecu for the seat heater).

Part number is 87501-60010 or 87501-OEO2O. I'm trying to source this now, as my local Toyota dealership wants way too much money for this part.

Part is also used on some other Toyota vehicles and some Lexus models.

Update!

My mechanic was right! Seat heater control switch (center console) and seat heater element were both fine - it was a faulty control module.

Finally sourced a reasonably priced used 87501-60010 module from an auto recycler in California (module came from a Lexus IS 250).

Module installed today, and the driver's seat warms up! :)
