Heated Mirrors (adding to 2003 SR5)

I've searched and discovered some info on this but it still seems vauge to me. According to others they have found partznet to carry the heated mirror. I have not been able to find searching their site but could call.

I just want the mirrors that heat up not the whole shebang. Guess the door panel has to come off to confirm the existing wiring will support the heated mirror. Has anybody recently done this upgrade on a SR5 ?

thanks for the link, I will read over what is offered.

I have the side trim black cladding on my runner, one of the reasons I bought it. The side mirrors are black, like the side cladding. My hope is a simple glass replacement inside the existing mirror housing.
 
I think you can add the Muth heater to the existing mirror glass. My guess is that Yota would only sell you the entire $400+ mirror.

partznet replied and their tech guy says it can't be done. i'm not giving up. when i have the chance i plan to remove the inside driver side panel to check existing wires.

In the meantime, would be interested in hearing from other's who have made this upgrade.

More than likely the wiring is there to make it heated. But you can't buy just the glass, you have to buy the whole mirror. I had to do this twice on my Sienna after I broke the glass.

In the 2003 SR5 models, it may not have the wiring. Check out this thread for the wiring to look for.
 
Thanks for all replies. Seems it is near to impossible. I have a upcoming speaker upgrade and will check the wiring.

I added Muth HEATED Signal mirrors to my 2005 SR5.

The wiring was in the door already...although I dont have pics its was pretty easy to find.

One of my best upgrades.
 
Wolfgang suggested muth too. looks like you can get mirror glass to add with existing side mirrors, around $269.00.

did the old glass removal and install go easy ?

Thanks for the link. I may do this upgrade later after my door speakers are replaced, (waiting to receive the backorder).

If by chance my 4runner comes wired for heated mirrors then would these mirrors use the same wiring already in the 4runner or do you still have to use the wiring provided in the add on kit ?
