Heated mirrors in 2000 SR5's?

I was reading the original fact sheet/brochure for 2000 4runners, and noticed that SR5 models came standard with color matching heated side mirrors ? I was not aware of that..
They must be continiously running as I have no switch to activate them.....Is this right?

i think the deal with the heated mirrors is that they come on when you put on one of the defrosters- i think its the rear defroster that activates the side ones, but i am not too sure about that. they seem to work pretty decently on my limited
