Heated power WTF?

My '07 SE has them. I never really checked them when the Defroster is on, not sure if they get warm to the touch.

Heated power mirrors were a part of the Sport Edition package. They came as standard equipment on all Limited models.

I wasn't sure that I had them until I was looking at my window sticker.

I know they work at defogging the mirrors since I used them recently for that purpose but I haven't had a chance to see how they deal with ice. I figure if they defogged ok they should deice.

I have an 08 4Runner and in Northern Canada (-45C/F) they shed ice and snow in about 2-3 minutes. Light frost in fall in seconds.

If it's SR5 then it DOES not have heated side mirrors. SR5s have black mirrors, not painted in body color.
Sport Edition and Limited have them as standard equipment since the day one.

My shop has built machines that assemble outside mirrors, including the adhesive heat pad on the back of the glass. I haven't looked at my mirrors much yet, but I'd like to try retrofitting my SR5 with heated mirrors some day. Last week I got to the airport and my car was covered in ice. I figured I'd probably break my mirrors before I'd get 1/4" of ice off, so I stopped at a gas station to pour hot water on them. Now I have a spray can of de-icer with my scraper and brush. I wish I had heated mirrors. And heated spray windshield washer nozzles, I had to stop again when I realized those were iced over.

Just needed to know... I was drinking with the boys the other day around the ol camp fire in the back .. we wanted some tunes so I pulled the runner around for the duration of the event... at the end I went to pull it back into the garage and I forgot that the push broom was sticking out a little bit.. needless to say I managed to make the handle swing down and hit the driver side mirror... and of course cracked it :( So .. as awesome as the signal mirrors are... I dont want to dish out the 300 to get them... lol.. I was more or less looking into getting a factory replacement.

IIRC, you may able to order just the mirror glass from the dealer if the housing and the motor assembly are intact.

In another thread, it was mentioned there's also a seller on eBay that sells replacement glass. Your SE has heated mirrors.
