Heater control illumination

so... presently i have a 2003 4-runner, SR5...the big heater control knobby thingys seem quite dim or not lit up at nighttime... was curious if they were just designed that way...or is there a bulb located behind each control knob..the temperature knob is also quite hard to see...And the next question i have is, how do i access the bulbs to switch them out? all i see is tons of plastic, so im sure they are snapped together somehow...any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Remove the dead light bulbs and bring them to the dealership for replacement. They are just under $ 5 each and to the best of my knowledge that is the only place you can get them unless you want to re wire the bulb into the socket/holder thingy.
