Heater fan switch keeps melting like it's over loading. Checked all grounds, clean, tight, etc. What am I missing.

Umm,, first guess -- blower fan drawing too much and may be about to go out. If so, check the size of the fuse in the fan circuit. Someone may have put in a size thats too big so the smaller fuses would stop burning out and allow more current to pass.

Fuses right, this is second switch in 2 years. Could be too much draw from fan, could also be so dirty that it's dragging it down. Either way, too much resistance.

Heater Blower Fan Switch

This is second switch in 2 years.

How did you resolve your heater switch issue? Also how did you remove it?

I have a '92 4Runner that I'm parting out for better parts into a '93. I've been trying to remove the Heater Blower Fan Switches out of both vehicles. But without forcing the switch out, I can't get either one out. Is there some kind of plastic latch holding them in? Do I need to push them back a lot harder towards the engine?
