my 1997 4Runner SR5 has been having some issues with the ventilation system lately. When I turn it up it sounds like it is working really hard (kind of a loud low pitch humming). I don't know if it has a blockage somewhere or what, but it still works (however when I combine floor and defrost it will not defrost the windshield even at high). I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before? I would prefer to not have to empty my refrigerant in order to remove the cooling unit, then take my entire dash off and remove the heater unit if I don't have to, could it be the vents or an inlet are blocked so I don't have to do all of this?(wishful thinking.) I really just don't want to have to worry about draining and refilling my radiator just because my ventilation isn't working properly.
