She sure did. We had some good times in our brief time together. I remember stumbling out of the truck, checking for injuries and then walked to the front to see her front end smashed into the tree [emoji31]
 
Glad you're ok. I'm amazed none of the glass seems to be broken and it looks like the doors still open and close, after a hit like that. They sure don't make them like they used to, thankfully.

Wow, glad you were able to walk away. I saw the aftermath of a 4Runner that met a tree when I was in high school. The driver didn't make it, and the 4R had little left (think it was a 95 4R).

Yeah believe it or not the windshield had no damage besides the two rock chips it already had. Even those did not spider. The front pass door was a pain to open but all the others had no problem
 
After hitting a deer at low speed in our Tundra a few years ago that cost me a front bumper and covers; I figured the way to go was to put a bale spear on the front! Then I could just drive to the butcher and hit the brakes. All kidding aside though - glad you are ok and that you're on your way back with a new ride.
 
I know if I total my car, God forbid, I want to recover my roof rack, my Domello rock sliders and that cool set of velvety foam dice I have hanging from the rear view mirror. :dance: I guess the lesson for us is to have it towed, go inspect it, remove what you can and then call the insurance company


Yeah if I could get a do-over on the accessories I would definitely have removed the Trail rims and tires and spare, roof rack bars and attempted the K and N intake tube (chrome) but I just wanted to go home. It could have been done as my truck was at my parents and not a body shop where they would have charged to store it. I was looking at the report and they gave me $194 for my accessories. Funny thing is they said had I removed the tires it could have affected their valuation. What a joke. For 200 bucks I shoulda removed my stuff but lesson learned. I'd advise anyone here to take their goodies off if they ever find themselves in this predicament
 
Many places will not let you remove anything from a wrecked vehicle other than personal belongings. The reason is wrecking yards don't want to get involved in issues regarding property and ownership; what was there at the time of the incident and what wasn't. So going back to get rims, racks, stereos, sliders, etc. probably won't happen anyway. Insurance co's want you to have a separate rider for extra - non factory items.

Yah what made it easier for me was it was parked at my parents house. Ins adjuster told me when I was ready to have it towed just call em. So if it happens to you and you have family or friends willing to allow the wreck in their driveway to remove your mods, do it. It was my bad for assuming ins company would give me more for the mods. At least I got my mats and cargo cover tho!

Thx bro. It was definitely an adventure trying to find another TE. My sales lady tried to sell me a TForce and a 17 TRD OFF ROAD but I was dead set on a 16 TE

That is just horrible to look at! I am glad you walked away and I feel better with my family in the truck. Wow that took a punch!
 
I like that you ended up with exactly what you wanted and didn't settle. Let me know when you want to hit hidden falls again.. I just need to get my winch box fixed because I know you'll need it

I lucked out the adjuster didn't ding me for my Hidden Falls "badges" man if Limiteds can take on HF it should be no problem for me!

Glad you are OK man. If you mentioned this already I must have missed it, but what year was the 4Runner that got totaled?
