Hella 500, 100w Upgrade???

I know alot of you have swapped to 100w bulbs in your Hella 500 lights. Ive already upgraded a pair of mine to the 100w bulb.
Has anyone had trouble with melting the plastic lamp housing with extended use of these bulbs? Im sure they are fine for short use, but Im more concerned with longer offroading trips. Thanks guys.

what gauge of wiring please?

You should be fine- I would be more worried about the wiring feeding the Hellas-be sure it is 14 or bigger (smaller numbers)12 would be better, 10 even more so....


Dude over on Yota Tech converted his 500s to HIDs and reports no issues...so 100w bulb should not be an issue for the plastic housings.
