Hella 500 Lights

1) What's the difference between the 500 and 500 FF (Free Form) models? The FF models just look clearer.

2) You guys drive around with these on in the city or just offroad? I've been paying attention to cars and trucks driving at night and it seems like a lot of them do have the regular headlights on as well as their foglights.

well if you properly aim fogs then you can have them running all the time if you want, as far as i know. im looking into getting the PIAA 525 series lights that actually come with a high and a low beam, so i can run the low beams all the time and throw the extra light on the road when i need it

Ive got hella 500's and I use them when driving on country roads but not in town. Def get pulled over. There pretty bright.

Are they really that bright?

I have a '97 model so the headlights aren't clear like the 99+ models. Anyways, I put in SilverStars in them and I run them on high all the time - I have only been flashed once in over 2 years doing this. So my question is are the hellas as bright as silverstars on high?

I guess the only difference with the Hella 500 FF Series is that it uses more advanced technology, plus it's got a better design than the regular 500.

They seem pretty bright to me but hell sometimes my sylverstars are on dim and I get flashed. Maybe because im lifted..?

did you re-aim your headlights down a bit when you lifted it? lower them a bit if this is a normal problem
