Hella 500 Reviews???

Does anyone have Hella 500 driving lights on their rig? How do you like them? How durable are they? How bright are they? I'm looking for personal experience, I can read the website description. I'd like to hear first hand experiences.

I do not have them but they seem to be a favorite on here . Never heard complaints .

I ran Hella 500's on my old rig and I just put together something for a friend and used the 500FF. I would use them again.

I have only used the driving beam but I like them. For 50 bucks its a good value. The 500's are probably the cheapest light thats worth putting on. Way better than the $20 dollar Walmart special but its not a fancy HID light.

First off I have 5 Hella 500 Driving lights and 2 Hella 500 fogs mounted on my T4R. These are great lights right out of the box and come with everything needed for installation. I have been using the same Hellas for 4 years now without any trouble. Out of the box the lights are pretty bright. I have upgraded to 100w bulbs in one set of the driving lights and they are incredibly bright. Please check to see what the provided wiring is rated for before upgrading to 100w bulbs. I know several people have done so with the provided wiring but I haven't heard how well the wire has held up. IMHO for the price Hella 500 driving lights cant be beat. Im not a big fan of the 500 fogs though and would not recommend them. Hit up BlairB he has both Hella 500s and KCs and should be able to give you a comparison of the two.

I got them...and like them. I used them twice (for real) both times driving threw Oregon. I hit deep fog and flipped them on and they worked wonderfully. They aren't significantly bright but you dont want that with this type of fog. Bright fogs are more designed for seeing at night, etc where these are true fogs that you want to see whats in front of you rather than being "blinded by the light" (sorry, couldn't resist) :biggrin2:
