Hello, and Help Please?

Hi all. I've been lurking for quite some time and figured it was time to join the club. It's been fun reading all the information and checking out everyone's rides, but I'm at the point where I could use some help.

I'm looking for a 2001 (I like the electronic additions) with less than 175k miles, and I have $5k to spend. Am I being realistic? Everything in my area is either beat to hell or way out of my price range with very little in between. I found something perfect at an Ohio dealership, but apparently it's a super shady business and I can't waste my time and money chasing after it.

I've hit a brick wall that makes it seem like I'll never be in a 4Runner. What do I do?

Welcome aboard Tony! Unfortunately(or fortunately) as you've already discovered, 4Runners hold their value quite well. You're either gonna have to settle for a POS or wait, save up a bit longer, and find a decent one. I would choose the latter. Out here in Cali, u can find 'em for 5K but they're all over 200K miles. Clean but high miles.
