Hi All,
I'm a newbie to this great board, and new also to 4Runner addiction, although I think it's happening already!
Here's a quick question for those that don't want to continue reading: I need an owners manual for my 06 SR5, V6 4X4. I found this, http://www.techinfo.toyota.com/ but I'm unsure as to whether or not this is the best place to get one. Please let me know if you can
I'll spare my life story, but I travel extensively thoughout the NE US and Eastern Canada, usually in my car. Thought is was time to finally take the SUV plunge (although my 04 LeSabre has served me well and kept me safe on the road...amazing what a well balanced larger car with a competent driver can get through!
) and decided to start looking at 4X4's. Liked the driving visibility resulting from sitting higher than cars, etc. I checked reliability ratings, reviews, etc and decided on the 4Runner. I bought used 'cause I hate the depreciation "hit", although it's not as bad with Toyota's or even Honda's as it is with "american made" cars. I drive a real lot, so I wanted a vehicle I could put 100-200K miles on...safely.
Anyway, I wanted a Sport, but couldn't find anyone to deal with me. I got a real good deal on the 06' SR5 with 24K miles and after 2 weeks am quite happy with it. I'm in the (industrial) synthetic lubrication business, so I just changed over to a full synthetic. On the highway I'm getting between 23-24 mpg, and think with a K&N air filter I can stretch that out a bit more.
I had a 4WD Toyota truck in the mid 90's. Not sure of the model, but it had the 4 cylinder 22RE engine with locking hibs. It was a 'tractor' in the snow....just incredible! I had a flashback when I got into the 4R for the first time...same cheesy feeling gas pedal and sun visor (although functional!). But it is amazing that Toyota does most things real well, the first time.
Anyway, looking forward to hangin' with you folks. Hope I can add something to this great resource. I expect with all the driving I do (wintertime too!
) I'll be able to give some real good, real life 'I was going down the road today and you won't believe what happened....' type reports.
