Hello everyone...new 4Runner owner...

Hey folks,

Just a little hello here...just bought myself a 2008 Limited V8 a couple weeks ago... I will be taking delivery this week some time...

I have been reading a lot of the information on here for some time now, and it pretty much only confirmed what I have been thinking for years...The 4Runner is for me...

I took a look at the newly updated Pathfinder as well before deciding for sure what I was going to buy. My wife and I just couldn't get past the inferior materials being used inside of this rig in comparison to the Toyota....To the point where we couldn't even bring ourselves to bother taking it out for a test drive. I would have to say that the current Pathfinder seats were slightly more comfortable than the Runner, but other than this there was no comparison for us...

In any case, really looking forward to pickin' the new rig up!

The only other truck we considered was the GX470, however, with the difference in price up here in Canada we just couldn't justify it. The Limited V8 4Runner is basically 53K Canadian MSRP (which is crazy in and of itself), and the GX470 up here loaded goes for 76k Canadian MSRP if you can believe it. The difference up here between the two is much larger than in the states...Beautiful vehicle, but in the end it was too rich for our blood...

Lookin' forward to chattin' with everyone on here...

Cheers

Welcome and i hope you enjoy the 4runner. I also looked at pathfinders but liked the 4runner much more.

You definitely made the right choice. I bet you are counting down the time until you get the new truck! Believe me, the GX is not worth the extra money. :D

Congrats and welcome , I think you made the right choice . The Pathfinder as some here see it as a direct competitor to the 4R . I think the 4R is better in every aspect. The pathfinder lost it for me when the back started to look like a mini van , the solid rear axle turned to IRS to make it nice and comfy for the street , not to mention the interior.

Enjoy your truck !!

Yeah, it's a little too on the square looking side for me :-) I would have to agree with the whole "looks like a minivan from behind" argument now that you mention it. Maybe that was what was bugging us subconciously when we were looking at it in the showroom :-)

Cheers

Well, just got the official pick up time from my salesman...Wednesday afternoon...

Hard guy to get a hold of some times he is :-)

Cheers

Nice. I'm not a big fan of the GX's either. I sat in a new LX at a local car show--now that thing is amazing.

Anyway, make sure to tell your sales guy no test drives or joy rides!!! I've had a few salesman offer me test drives in a "sold" car. I declined, but always made me raise my eyebrows.

LOL...wouldn't surprise me if this kinda thing happens...Ah well, if he can wreck my runner driving 50kms or something then power to him :-)

LOL...now I'll be havin' bad dreams tonight thanks to you :-) LOL

Cheers
