Hello from Boston!

A life long Ford Nut here... always driving a Blue Oval something or another.

Bought my first "Non-Ford" (for my son) on 03/01/2012, a 2003 4Runner Limited, V-8, black w/grey leather fully loaded. 98k for milage, 1 family ownership with all service at local Toyota dealer since new. 8900.00 was the buy price. Drove 160 miles to look and purchase, ride back home was amazing. Ford has nothing to offer that will match this truck.

No major issues, but did all fluids (trans, diffs, oil, cooling) new struts and shocks, front swaybar endlinks and bushings. Rides and feels better than my 08 Escape w/60K!

Everything works great, but got o wiff of the "rotten egg" smell this afternoon. Had no smells at all the past 400 miles. seems to be common, but anything I should lookout for?

Any pointers and tidbits of info regarding this truck I should be aware of?

Can't wait to start the mods (never can leave well-enough alone!) with a Sport hood andsome chrome wheels (20in???).

Congrats on the new truck! Did it have the timing belt and water pump changed at 90K? If not, you should have that work done. Other than that, you should be good to go!

Waiting on service records.... hope to have them this week. V8 has a timing belt, not a timing chain? My first "non-Ford" so excuse my noobie lack of knowledge. Water pump seems original

You're correct the V8 has a timing belt not a chain. Also check out this site, Toyota Owners Official Website: Service Coupons, Owners Manuals, Service Scheduling and More, you can enter your VIN and see all the service records since it's been serviced at a Toyota dealer.

If your timing belt was changed, the engine cover will have a sticker on it stating the date and mileage it was changed at.

No sticker on the cover, so probably not changed.

Anyone know what the 90L campaign is? This was performed 05/2011 with 89420 miles on the clock...

The 90L campaign was a recall on the floor mats interfering with the accelerator. This was a recall on most Toyota models.

Thank you, linked up to the Toyota site, all records since 2005 at same dealer...Belize in Springfield MA. No mention or timing belt. Will search site for install info... any links or stickeys?

Delz not sure where in the Boston area you are but I know of a shop in Rockland, Quality work good price customer first kinda place. I highly recommend them, The do all my service and never a complaint and yes they are Toyota guys. interested shoot me a PM

Thanks QJAKE, if needed I will reach out to you. Life long friend has a shop in Dorchester where I do all my work... been doing restorations and rebuilds up there for 25 years, but mostly on Mustangs and Classic Muscle Cars.

This will be my first Toyota investment!
