Hello from El Salvador

I found this forum while searching up some maintenance tips for my 09 Sport.

I am in the US foreign service and my 4Runner has been pretty much all over southern Vietnam and Guatemala-Hondurad-El Salvador. I am taking it to Lagos, Nigeria this fall.

It has been a great vehicle so far and I hope to be able to hang on to it for several more years. The trouble there is that many countries wont allow me to import a vehicle over a certain age. For example, I would not be able to take it back to Vietnam because they will not allow me to import a vehicle more than 5 years old.

so my bidding strategy moving forward will be to go to countries where they dont have age limits on imports!

Welk this is a resurrection! I bought my 4runner in Chile and was hoping to drive it back to the US. Do you know if it's possible to import the cat to the US. I am aUS citizen with residency in PA. If not is a temporary permit possible?
