Hello from Iowa

Hi, I just wanted to say hello to this forum. I'm new to the SUV world, I had a rusty 4runner 3gen for a few weeks and couldn't live with the idea I cannot trust the frame to take it off road.

I now got a 2005 V8 Sport Ed with no rust :)

Just installed new tires, Firestone Destination AT. I plan a few mods as fund becomes available. Probably some body armor first and upgraded suspensions. Before all these I plan to get a remote start installed. All my other cars are manual transmission so I couldn't get a remote safely.

If anyone wants to get together and talk about cars or photography I'm in Iowa City.

Great forum by the way, thank you all for sharing so much information.

My wife's from Iowa City and we go back there to see her family every year or so. My family is from Waterloo area and we like to wheel.

Wow!!!! Your camera must be a really good one! I have a cabin not to far from Iowa City, right down there at Holiday Lake. I've never seen a sunset like that. Absolutely beautiful!
 
Have family in Cedar Rapids and the lady grad work in Iowa City...so maybe see you for the ISU-Iowa game next year? Where do you go wheeling up there? I'm down in West Des Moines.

It's not so much the camera as it's how you use it. This is actually a sunrise, I underxposed about 2 stops if I remember. Even a point and shoot would have worked if it had manual controls.

Wadle, I just got the truck I never been off road but I'm for a try if you have some places around des moines. Let me know when you get in town.

Definitely will do. Also my Dad owns some farmland 30 mins outside of Des Moines, with water crossings and all.

Welcome! I'm in Des Moines area. Not much wheeling around these parts. I'm more into the roadtrip to beautiful destinations kinda guy anyway. Colorado, Arkansas, and South Dakota aren't that far away.
