Hello,
I just wanted to say hello to all. I just bought my 1st. 4Runner. (2010 SR5 w/black leather interior, and Magnetic Gray exterior). I found this forum by accident and can't tell you enough how helpful it has already been ( I used a thread on this forum to install my roof rack cross bars). All of the info and people helping each other is great!
So far the only 2 disappointments I have with this new truck is that I do mostly city driving and I only average about 13-14 MPG. (600 miles on truck right now) and the other is when you come to a stop and press the gas to go right away there is a large hesitation. My 2007 Camry had the same hesitation but eventually they came out with a computer flash to fix it (Transmission flash). So hopefully this will be corrected.
Well just wanted to say hello to all and what a great forum.:bravo:

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. I am surprised seeing these low city mpg figures that many 5G owners are experiencing. My 07 V8 4x4 gets better than that. I'll never see the highway mileage you guys get of over 20mpg, but the city is just a little surprising.

Hi and welcome to the forum! If the city your referring to is NYC, then just getting in and out without dents all over your car is a miracle, so don't worry so much about your mileage cause paint and body work costs way more per mile! This is coming from a guy who had multiple "meet and greets" with other drivers in NYC and the boys in brown towing my various trucks down to the pier...:ybrick:

Welcome to T4R.org.

The gas mileage will improve. The 4.0 V6 in the 4th gen 4Runner and 2nd gen Tacoma took a long time to break-in. Most people reported MPG improvements after 5-10k miles.
