Hello from Lower Alabama

Just picked up my first 4runner. She is a 2002 SR5 4x4. Has 154xxx miles. I bought it knowing I had to replace the engine. It is currently at my mechanics getting a crate motor put in. Has leather seats. I am super excited to get her on the road. I picked it up for $1500 so I figured I'll have a great vehicle when I'm done for around 4k. Glad to be here!

Thanks. I got the engine for $2150, went ahead and bought the following, new front struts,new motor mounts,new belts. Figure I'll have about $4200 or so when I'm done maybe a touch more cause I did buy new tires also. I'll attach a pic. They really remind me of a toyo m/t

What did it cost you if you don’t mind me asking. I’m going to have to put a new head on mine and worried about what I’m gonna find in there. I don’t think the PO took care of it from what little I’ve done to it so far. I’ve got another motor with 230k on it but don’t know much about it either yet. Just trying to weigh all my options

Kar King Auto in Ontario California. Dude's name is Jorge. I just called him and ordered it. I did have it shipped to my work because lift gate service is couple hundred bucks I believe.

Welcome to the 4runner world. I'm pretty new as well but love my 2005. I'm a car guy and sold my Nissan z with 32k miles on it to fund the 4runner. I was super worried about doing that but I have had so much fun in 4runner. Definitely made the right decision.
