Hello from Miami

I had a '95 that I drove and drove and drove to near 200K. I then moved on to an Avalon and bought my son a 97 4Runner Limited when he turned 17. He had a few bumps and bruises with it (one notable one with a fence :wow. As college plans started coming together for him, it appeared that a ride with more gas mileage would be best. So I got rid of the Avalon, bought him a Civic and TOOK THE 4RUNNER FOR MYSELF!

I'll be needing to fix it up quite a bit, but I'm telling you... I love 4Runners.
This one has 138,000 miles on it but I'm determined to fix it up and take it to 200K.

Welcome to the board from a born Floridian with extensive previous ties to Miami.

Several family homes have left the area, with some (like me) leaving the state entirely for work and tax reasons.

Definitely ties to 4Runners, I am on my second 4Runner right now, with 60k of 160k put on it by me.

Thanks for the welcome. Getting ready to put some new tires on the 4Runner this weekend, then new brakes and rotors midweek. My son had a great stereo in the 4Runner which impeded him from hearing those brake pad noises!

Next on the list for April is replacing the bumper and fender, removing the running boards (see? I've been reading the forum!) and maybe getting some more powerful headlamps.

May might see some paint and then I'll try and leave it alone for a while - that may or may not be too successful.
