Actually, title meant to say "former truck fan"...lol.
Still a Ford truck fan but wanted something different and smaller.
I recently bought my kid his 2004 4Runner Sport and we have been very impressed with it. We had some fun dressing it up for him (lousy pic but you get the idea) with a Toytec Bilstein 3-inch lift, BFGs on MB wheels, KC lights, AVS bug guard and window visors, and Rola roof rack:
So....decided to sell my recently built F150 FX4 (with Fox/Icon suspension and other goodies) and bought my own first Toyota 4Runner.
My former ride:
My new ride is a brand new 2014 Trail Edition with KDSS, Entune with Nav/Backup Cam, and other options.
We absolutely love this thing! I do miss all the horsepower and torque my EcoBoost had, but love how the Toyota feels and rides, and is also a lot quieter as well. I am thinking of maybe Linex-ing the lower front bumper lip and fender flares black to add some contrast and tie into my planned mods but not sure about that yet.
This forum has been a great source for ideas and research. I went ahead and ordered a Toyotec Boss 3-inch lift suspension system, black/machined Fuel Boost 18x9 +1mm offset wheels, and Gobi Stealth Roof Rack. I loved the Goodyear Duratracs on my Ford so thinking about the LT 295/65R18s which will be 33.1 inches tall and 11.6 inches wide on the 18x9 wheels; hope they fit! Also think I will custom mount a couple of Rigid D2 LEDs in the grille area.
Anyway, this is how it looks right now completely stock but will post more pics when done:
