Hi to all! First post here. Pic of my fiancé with the Runner this last weekend..unmodded as of then. Well, I have owned my 05 Limited Xreas, 4.7L for a whole week and a half now, and probably spent about 30 hours on here between my phone and computer! (I am on medical hold, military after a MEDEVAC so all I have to do is sit around all day, and get better). I got rid of a 1997 Wrangler to get something easier on my back, and that I didn't have to work on, but ALAS, I may have to get some work done after all. First, let me say that I love my runner, absolutely. It handles like a car, is luxury, and is going to be great off road, all positives and better than my Jeep (it even pains me to say that a bit but it's true). I got a great deal on it, at trade in value from a dealer, and thought, well even if there is some minor problems it shouldn't be too bad...then 2 days ago, I heard a tick, tick, tick. Of course I came on here and searched around and found out about the cracked manifold issue...ugh, a dealer in my area quoted me at $1129 which isn't as bad as I had worried after reading everybody else's experiences. I have ordered the daystar 2.5/1.5 and Gibson cat back and will update pics later. Another interesting thing that might effect somebody else, today while sitting for about 5-10 minutes with my ignition in the ACC position, my NAV unit started blinking, so I tried to start it and clicks were abound...I thought it was a short, the battery, or starter. I tried to start it after the appointment that I had to go to and click, click. I cycled the lights, then turned it to on, then turned to start and slowly, it started. This evening I went to advance auto and had them test battery and they found the cranking amps were low, but voltage was good. Just to verify I stated and turned off 3x, on the 3rd it barely cranked. So the battery replacement solved the issue. Now, it's off to the dealer tomorrow for cracked manifold verification (hopefully, it's just a gasket, yeah right), then off to another dealer to install the Daystar, and I will install the Gibson myself on the lift on base. Also, I bought a key fob on eBay for 39.99 that came with programming info. and it was ALL spot on and works perfectly, just programmed it today in about 2 tries. The fob was HYQ12BBX and worked for my 05. Cosmetically, I have done an XReas sticker from the dealer, and an iForce V8 emblem from eBay. Both look great. Thanks to everybody on the site for the insight that I have plundered and pillaged through over the last week and a half, and I hope that this stupid long post isn't TOO stupid for a first post (previous VW head so I tend to read/post on forums a LOT).
