Hey, I've been trolling this site for quite a while, and figured it's about time I actually make it 'official'.

I've had 4runners for 16 years, my first one purchased when I was 22 (a black 95 that turned out to be a total lemon). After the oil pump failed, causing a catastrophic engine seizure/failure (no oil = bad thing) and Toyota refusing to cover it under warranty as I had done the oil changes myself and they blamed me, not the oil pump, I was about done with Toyota as a company.

But I just couldn't give up on the trusty 4runner... After putting in a new engine, I kept driving that beast for another several years, taking it to 9 national parks, and doing some pretty hairy offroading through Moab & Canyonlands in Utah.

With those trips, my love of the 4runner deepened, and I ended up swapping my 95 for a 97 that has been absolutely bullet-proof. I love this truck, and even though it's my second vehicle (my primary being a BMW M3) I drive the trusty old runner a hell of a lot more than my much more expensive Bimmer.

I've recently decided to take the plunge and get the ol' gal set up the way I always wanted, and have enlisted the help of Jim at Outdoor Logic to help in the transformation.

I look forward to chatting with you all and learning from the collective wisdom.
