(HELP) 2014 SR5 steering wheel shake from braking over 50mph and dropped 2mpg?

I recently changed all four brake pads the rear rotors are brand spanking new. The front rotors are <20k. I have this weird shake of the steering wheel not violent. If you live in California and have that weird grooved yellow line it just feels like you are driving over that it's easy to control the wheel just concerning and annoying. When I looked it up it said it could be the alignment but it would show up when i was regularly driving the steering wheel shake only begins when braking at anything about 50 and above. It has fresh pads and fresh rear rotors mostly new front rotors so i am almost 100% its not that. I am running KM3s with about half the tread left. I understand that they are louder as they wear. My gearhead friend heard like a consistent revolving like whoop tire sound he said it could be my tread or could need a balance. I guess it was mentioned in the article it could be the caliper pins. I am short on money so I am just trying to identify where the issue is before going in. I haven't found a total gearhead in California that loves cars enough to really attack the problem and I was just looking for some guidance. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If brakes are good then tires out of balance or uneven tread wear would be my next guess. Swap the front tires to the rear and see how that effects the shake at 50mph.

Easy stuff 1st balance then rotate , calipers would sound like clicking w/o xtra pin . Probably threw a weight or 2 makes a difference .

Sounds like warped front rotors
Unbalanced tires would shake regardless of braking or not

Or worn lca / uca bushings
Would be my next guess

another vote for tires out of balance...

2014 driver here, not that it makes any diff, they are all the same...

anyway, ive gone thru a few sets, and Toyota rims are the most finicky when it comes to being 'HUB' balanced...see, i learn too.

either get yourself a new set, or get them rebalanced and make sure you ask about hub-balancing. or take them to a dealership and they will do them correctly.

i loved, then ruined a set of Cooper Discos because Pep Boys didnt balance them right (i had that shake all the time) and i didnt get them rotated in a timely manor (shake got worse). the stock dunlops were fine until the very end i got a little shake...and my next set of ATs are as smooth as silk and rotated within the correct mileage window.

If it shakes during braking then I would say warped rotors. I cooked my Tundra front rotors and warped them going down the grapevine. I know how it feels to drive with warped rotors and its very irritating.

Another possibility would be the front rotors are glazed in spots from the old pads or if the new pads were not bedded in properly.
