As a longtime member here, I've managed to join Tacomaworld as a result of the purchase of my 2005 TRD Sport. Although I've been a member there since 2012, I don't seem to be quite at home there, as I do here! lol!

I recently modded my Taco grill, and ordered some Amber LED lights to mimic the Raptor style grill.

I was quite happy with my mod, however, not even 2 weeks following my mod, 2 out of 3 of the lights quit working. I've tried dealing with the seller, but all he wants to do is refund me the $3.00 I paid for the lights, rather then send me more. I just want him to send me more lights, that match the size of the ones I have now.

I currently have this style on my truck:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018IAZLZ...8761-c6dc52e863b3&ie=UTF8&qid=1527815761&sr=2

But can't seem to get them shipped to me from Amazon.com, and the Canadian site is just atrocious, for pricing.

Anybody here, willing to get a good set of at least 3, and ship them to me? I'd obviously be willing to repay you for the shipping, and the cost of the items. ;)

I just want to make my Taco sexy again... ;)

BTW... I still haven't sold my 1st love... and daily drive it all summer long! ;)

I love you brother but is this really all over the $3 or $12 (US) worth of lights?

Maybe I'm missing something in brain :brick:

I got your back. Just let me know what you need.
But will you FIGHT for his cause?

BTW - Fightman the Taco looks great!

Lastly, here is a product that I think is similar to what you were going for but just a lot more expensive (sorry). I would say this American designed Chinese product is better than the Chinese product that failed on you.

Nice taco man! I am jelly. I would totally love having another truck around. For one, it would allow me to feel more comfortable trying to tackle big maintenance jobs if I knew I could still get to work if it went into extra innings.

In the future for things like this, you could also consider buying them from a seller on Alibaba/AliExpress.

The shipping times can be a little bit longer as most sellers are in China, but I've had good experiences buying stuff that I find there.

Most "Expensive" item I have bought there was a Knock-Off TRD Shifter Knob for my Daily Driver (Matrix XRS). It was 12$ CAD and the knob is actually better quality than I expected. It's been in the car for almost 3 years now and still looks great.

I've also bought a lot of LED lights and various types of electronic connectors and such. You can usually buy this stuff in batches too.

Hey man! Thanks for chiming in! I couldn't care less about the $3.00, all I want from the seller is to send me more lights. Unfortunately, I can't get a set for under $30.00 shipped to me, tried using Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, and E-bay. Looks like the only place I can get these, are from the guy I bought them from??? (because Amazon.com won't ship them to Canada, and the .CA is not showing them at all as product that's available to buy.)

I've already modded my grill to accept the lights I bought from E-bay, but the seller is refusing to send me more. Which leaves me with limited options, as I've already cut holes in the mesh of my grill, to accept the lights I had.

My grill isn't a flush mesh, but more mid-range inside my grill opening. I'm afraid that the lights you linked from the Retrofit Source, will be probably stick out past my grill surround, if I install those. Aside from them not lighting up anymore... the lights I installed, are ideal, because they are flush mounted. I tinted the lens with left over Nightshade spray, so they are almost hidden in daylight when they are not turned on.

Hope this clarifies things... and thanks again for linking me to those other lights... :)

Julie's been having some stomach issues lately, but otherwise fine. The kids are growing way too fast... my oldest now needs to shave her armpits and legs!! lol!

Crap dude, that is fast. Too fast. I hope Julie gets some relief, if not, find a good gastro doctor.

Both rigs looks great so enjoy replacing the lights and enjoy the summer.

Did you get my PM? Just wanted to confirm on the lights before I pulled the trigger.

Read lots of your posts and have your Build thread subscribed! Love your grille! AND the Taco!

As a fellow Canadian, this scenario has been played over and over again when trying to access reasonably priced parts from the US!

I just did a major overhaul of my sons' Mits Eclipse and our local parts outlet wanted $440CDN for 2 rotors and a set of pads! I bought all that and guide pins, lube for $175CDN from RockAuto --- then $80 for brokerage/shipping/duty. The RockAuto parts were better quality than our local! It took a week and a half to get the parts. not bad. Marine parts price differences are much worse! I've gone this route for years.

The broker I use has an address in the States, charges $30 for brokerage, $10 to ship up to 70lbs and bills me for duty, usually 5-15%. Looks like this may change with the new tariffs!!!! Parts prices will increase, I'm sure.

I found if you're spending more than $100, its well worth the time. You just have to be patient.

So.... I went to Jared! lol!

Big thanks to Jared for helping me out, and getting the grill lights ordered and sent to my house! Not only did Jared go out of his way to help get the lights, he refused to let me reimburse him for his trouble!

I received them just before I went out of town for a Family wedding, and only got around to installing them recently, as I've been busy with having a new home for the 4Runner and Taco!

They look good! And no worries. But that doesn't mean you can blame me if they have issues.
