(?) AC going out / fluctuating needle [WTF is going on ¿?]

I was driving around town today & I had my AC running & when I came to a complete stop my RPM's where fluctuating & there was a noise that sounded like I had my blinker on. The needle on the RMP gauge was moving semi fast. Once I turned the AC off the RPMs went back to normal.

Does this mean my AC unite is going bad ? Do i need to add more coolant.

Doubt its got anything to do with coolant unless your coolants so low the low pressure switch is telling it to come on and then turn off and on and off. Does it blow cold? Could be a compressor clutch problem..

it was blowing colder when I first bought the 4runner 2 weeks ago. How hard is it to change out the clutch or compressor ? is there a write up on how to ?
