Bought a new set of shocks to replace the worn out bilsteins on my 1995 4wd 4runner. while removing the bils, I am having problems unfastening the upper nuts. there doesnt seem to be anywhere to hold the stem while twisting the nuts with a wrench. there appears to be 2 flattish sides to the very top of the stem, on top of the threads, but it wont accept any sockets, and i cant grip it with any other tools. it might be that it is stripped, but i can figure out how to get these off. please help!
