Help! Buying 1st 4runner

I need to know the difference (specifically) between SR5 and the Limited 4wheel drive systems. I want to use the 4runner for some mild to moderate off-roading, and usually mild snow conditions (Northern Virginia). Why did one thread say that the SR5 is ideal for off-road? Am I losing out if I buy a limited?
