Help choosing correct tire size.

I purchased this wheel in 20x8.5 on clearance at 4WheelParts.com.http://www.procomptires.com/truck-jeep-wheels/pxa-series-6090-wheels.aspx I am looking for the proper size tire for my 07 SE. I went to Discount Tire today to look at some in person and asked about the 275/55R20. The rep shown me some Proxies in that size mounted on a Navigator. They looked a little too large. He suggested the 265/50R20 as an option. I have the 2" leveling spacer and according to the Miata Tire Calculator the 275/55 is almost identical to a 265/70R17. I'm looking to purchase tires online so I am stuck with whatever I buy. I am interested in the Yokohama Spec X tire. Anyone have any experience fitting this size with a leveling kit? I am willing to do minor mods to make it fit. I want to fill up as much of the wheel well as possible without rubbbing. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know much about the 20's. I do know a tire that's approx. 32" tall works well with the T4R that's been levelled. What backspace/offset did you get?

I'm inclined to think the 275/55 would give you "the look" and work well. Many have used 275/70/17's on the T4R and they're a squeak taller than 32". The 275/55/20 is about the same width and a touch under 32".

It may require a little fender liner relocation as outlined at the bottom of this page... http://www.top4runners.com/ja/2007/wheelspacers.html
