HELP! Electrical issues!!

Hey guys! As some of you know, I've recently been on a mod spree, and have just finished doing an LED conversion on my interior lights.

All was working great last night, and also today. But I went to adjust the aim on my headlights, and since then, I'm having issues!!

The truck won't turn over, the key does nothing, except make many of the lights flicker??? I tried messing with my driving light switch, and it causes the interior lights to turn on and off???

Sounds to me like there is a bad ground somewhere?? I should also mention, that I found the ground for my HID's relay to be loose today. I ended up splicing into the wire, and changing the connector. I then had the issues after doing this???

My buddy Lee (LD Forget) says that it can't be the HID's causing this issue... so what can it be?? Could it be wiring from the stereo from yesterday's work that is only showing itself today???

Any help would be appreciated.... the truck is sitting outside... dead.... again!!!

Firstly, I'm terrible with electrical.

I think you best bet would be to check over everything you've done recently. I know that's probably nothing you didn't think of, but free BUMP to the top if nothing else.

Maybe your pulling to much on one circuit, have a short somewhere, or as you suggested possibly a bad ground.

Try pulling some fuses and trying to start it up, I don't know which fuses you should be able to turnover with out, but it's all I can come up with.

Good Luck
(i hate chasing electrical gremlins around)

Do you have any inline fuses anywhere? If inline fuses pop but not enough to break all contact voltage will still travel but very intermittently. This would explain some of your systems.

Thanks for the replies guys! Shawn5800, I do have some inline fuses... I'll take a look and see!

Another thing to note, I was able to boost the truck. I let it run for 10 minutes, and parked it in the garage. I came to pull it back out, so that I could just drive in.... and it wouldn't start again! I boosted it a second time, but when I'd shift from park to drive, to reverse... the radio would cut out..... and there would be a static sound coming through the speakers??? Another thing to mention, one of my HID's quit working too??

I'm thinking that maybe there is a bare wire that wasn't capped off right behind the radio, or a pinched wire under the gear selector trim piece in the Center console....

like I said check the inline fuses for sure. especially if there are any to your radio. take that radio out and check for shorts. let me know how it goes!

Sounds like a pretty major parasitic draw to me, killing your battery. Gotta find this, or you risk having a fire on your hands. Check all positive leads. Disconnect positive leads for anything suspect, then charge the battery and see if all is well. If so, start connecting things again to help find the culprit.
