I am a TOTAL NEWBIE to the Toyota world. My Isuzu Trooper finally decided to divorce me after 16 years. I need a vechicle NOW and found a 1995 SR5 V6 Automatic Red, straight body, no leaks, very well kept with little or NO OFFROAD use. It has 134,000 miles and looks to be in fantastic shape. Taken care of with regular maintance and records to back it all up. Timing belt in the last 10,000 miles with no HEADGASKET work or trouble. Seems all it needs is tires and the usuall, plugs, wires, fluids and filters. Honest guy is selling it. I have a good feeling on this and the price is at 7500.00 but I can get it for around 6000.00. Anything I should know, be aware of or reconsider BEFORE I BUY this beauty? PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND GOODWILL. John in Montana

Thanks for the reply ...I keep reading about this unfortunate headgasket situation on the 95's. And the lack of power. I was told by the owner that the VIN on this one is not eligable for the headgasket recall...hummm...strange. I willl get the VIN # tomorrow, call the Dealer in Bozeman and see what he says about it. What is up with the steering linkage recall?? I am so tired of working on cars...timing chains...heaqdgaskets and such. I just want to keep it at belts, filters , fluids, plugs. If I buy this SR5...it will be my first vehicle in 16 years and defenitly the newest I have ever owned. They sure look sweet and seem to have a good following. I hope with everything that it is a good one and it will last me untill I take my last breath. I am 46...uhh....30 years more...if I am lucky....God...thats morbid...lol.
I suppose if I had to...I could do the damn headgasket job...sigh....I am gonna offer way, way under the 7500.00....like 5600.00. ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY FEEDBACK???

Only certain ones are under the recall in 95 so check the VIN , it is a job to do if you do the HG's also the relay rod is the other recall Toyota will do it for free it is no biggie, they had like 2 out of all the 4runners fail but they went ahead and did the recall.

The truck is great and if taken care of you can get 250K plus out of it...but it is a 11 years old and is not new so you know there will be some things that come up but less then I bet your Isuzu had.

And yes the 3.0Lauto is slow but from what I hear it is better then the V6 in you Isuzu.
