Hey guys I'm looking at buying this 2003 4Runner V8 with 127,xxx miles. I will be trading in my 08 Acura RDX for it simple because my wife is having 2nd child so I need something bigger. The car is well maintained I already checked it's service history owner always took it to Toyota dealership. Everything seems to have been done to it. Now my question is how realible is the v8 in it. I own a 95 4Runner with 265,xxx miles and never gave me a problem and my parents have own a 05 4Runner with no problems either so I'm assuming the v8 in this thing must be reliable too?

The V8 is solid, I think I passed 200k yesterday but forgot to look. As stated, maintain and they last to 300k easily.

I've got almost 164,000 on my 2003 V8 and have had no issues with the engine or transmission. I will say though you are probably going to run into the CV axles in the front going, those tend to go around 150,000 miles or so from what I've read(if I remember correctly) and that's about the mileage mine snapped at. Paid about $550 to get them replaced.

Someone with a 2008 (maybe 2007) Tundra put one million miles on his 2UZ-FE, which is the same V8 that is in the 4Runner.

I've got faith this engine will take beyond 300,000 miles easily.
