Help! Headlight plastic lens problem

I took apart my headlights to black them out. However after I took the lens off I saw that there was a spot on the inside of the plastic lens so I used some alcohol. It left a terrible stain and haze. I tried to buff it out but onsite as it left a clear spot while the rest is hazy.

Would it be ok to sand the inside or what would your recommendation be?

Someone else may be able to offer more advice, but my experience has been to never touch the inside of the lens as they mar up easily. Kind of like the instrument cluster lens, they just scratch easily when touched.

Use plastic polish with a small buffing pad on a drill.
