Hey guys! So I just installed some hellas and went to wire them but ran into a bump. Do I have to wire them to the high beams? If so, HOW!? I seem to have everything else good to go.

Does this mean that I have to have my high beams on to have my hellas on?

HELP ANYONE!

I know for a fact that you dont have to have your high beams on to have them on. I can't help with the wiring situation but my friend wired his up and he can have them on whenever he would like.

No you dont have to wire in conjunction with the highs. Whatever power source you tap your switch into, passing this along to pin 86 on the relay, is what you will need to be active to trigger the hellas. You could tap the DRLs or the factory parking lamps for example. Is that legal...that is a different story, check your local ordinances.

Where or how are you mounting them ?

If you run off the acc. then you can turn them off/on anytime , but in case you forget to turn them off they will shut off with the ignition .

Which model of Hella did you get ? A lot of people have Hella here , are they good light's or just cheaper as compared to PIAA or KC or ???

Mounting the switch with a Tacoma factory light switch in one of the blanks would look a lot cleaner than the Hella provided switch.

I think I'm gonna have to get someone who knows this stuff to look at it and help me. This is my first real wiring job other than the CB which was just a simple red and black wire to the battery.

The only reason I bought the Hella's was because of the price. They were definitely cheaper than most. I noticed that everyone was has changed switches. I was able to pop out a blank and drill out a hole to fit the switch provided.
