HELP!!How does this deal sound?

Ok my friends dad owns a car lot and called me about this 2000 4X4 SR5 he has. the truck is fully loaded except for leather. It has 71,000 miles and he is asking 16,900 but will let me get it for 14,500 since I was in his sons wedding and threw his bachelor where I was able to get his dad free lapdances all night from different girls. Lucky guy. i looked at it last weekend when he wasn't there but didn't like the cloth seats but I also didn't know he would give me that price. does this sound good or is it a little high. The truck is burgundy with sunroof and all, very clean looking in and out. Can someone post pics of the interior of a 2000 SR5 (dash) for me? Of course the truck is a solid color, is the main difference from LTD going to be the color and leather or are there more interior differnces?

you can get leather in an sr5, but the other differences are climate control, body cladding on the driver & passenger doors and the fender flare endcaps. besides that, should be about the same.

nice find, but id offer 14K for the heck of it, especially since youre not completely in love.

if you want leather, you can always get aftermarket covers too like katzkin or wet okole's that will colormatch pretty well.
 
thanks for the pics I was actually checking out your site but didn't know if there was a diff from 2000-2001. He may do the 14,000 but I am not going to push it cause another dealership is offering him the same amount plus its really clean, non-smoker, not dents or scratches. I have been searching the site for pics of a burgundy SR5 but with no luck. I didn't look at it as good as I should haae considering the seats threw me off but they were clean without and rips or stains. i should have looked to see if it had foglights but I don't think it did. So I take it this one won't have the locker, what difference will i notice about that? Do you know where I can find some detailed pics of a 00' SR5 without leather? What body cladding are you talking about and the endcaps, whats different about tha.
 
theres only a couple interior differences between mine and a 2000... a slide in the a/c controls or something being one of them.

it may actually have a locker. look for this button:

this ebay auction is an 00 sr5 4x4 with cloth interior... yours may have a different colored dash and cloth color though.

look at the bottom of the doors... thats the cladding i mean.

id say if you like its condition and the color, go for it!

As a reference, 2 months ago I bought my Silver 00' SR5 w/ sport pkg (Hood scoop, Limited style body w/ fender flairs) and 65K miles for $14,800. It's in perfect condition w/ cloth interior, sunroof, alarm system, "premium sound" (I'd hate to hear the base sound system) etc. I bought mine from a private party.
 
yea, i saw an 00 with 74K, sr5 w/ leather and all options for 16K at a dealership.

so 14K aint bad.
 
Thanks guys. I am really happy I found this site. I often visit the corral.net which is a mustang site and received tons of help on there and I am having the same great experience on here. Does anyone on here have a burgundy 4-runner. I pm'd one guy I think his sign on was Bonso but never got a reply.

Thanks lee, you are the man. I looked all over and couldn't find one. A lady at my job has a green SR5 I may look at the interior to see if I like it. Her RNR is a 99, will the tan interior be the same color as the tan in the 00' I am looking at?

yes. only slight differences in the a/c controls, i think, but the color of the cloth and everything else will be the same.
 
Lee, what type brushguard do you have and what are the price ranges on them? Also what type of sunroofs do these have? Is it slide back & forth only or do they actually tilt up and go back?

they slide and tilt. at least mine does!

my guard is a westin... prices are usually between $350 and $600.. all depends.
