Help identifying leak! w/ PICS

Hey, I've had my '99 4Runner for about 2 months now and I've noticed a slow leak that begins to drip either, while running, or right after I shut it off and leaves a puddle of pink fluid about 5 inches wide.

The leak is dripping from a steel line the runs back on the right side of the undercarriage and then goes up behind a shield into the sub floor. It runs directly underneath a parallel line that also runs into the sub floor. The leak is coming from the lowest one of the two I believe.

I am hoping someone can help me to identify what the issue is and maybe give me some options for a fix/cost/etc...

It will drip for a little while after I shut the engine off, and then stop, only ever accumulating about a 5 inch puddle over night, always in the same spot...

Any help would be really appreciated!!

I believe they are your rear heater coolant lines that are rusted through, hence causing the leak. Make sure to keep your eye on it. Other members have either replaced them with new OEM parts or cut the lines and used coolant hose in place of the steel lines.

Leak is still occurring and I'm hoping it is just residual coolant in those lines...

Well, your rear heater core is probably still full of coolant and that will slosh out as the truck is driven. If it bothers you, you could blow air in each of the open rear lines to get it out, but it won't do any harm, other than drips on the driveway for a while.

I noticed you have '99 (tall) 4Runner SR5 in your sig... can you explain the (tall) portion? I have a green 99' V6 SR5 that seems to sit higher up then most 4runners I see around...

The '99 4WD with 16" wheels were the tallest production 3G 4Runners ever built. Many people buy those springs and put them on other years to get a small lift (1"-2" depending on the year). There are paint codes of greenish yellow/red on the rear and Blue/Pink(left) & Blue/Yellow (right) in front.

The 2000's were the lowest, as the Ford Exploder/Firestone rollover thing scared the pants off the manufacturers.
