Hello all,
I am in need of some help. I have a 1998 limited 4x4 with 170k miles on it. There's is a pretty weird smell that occurs when I put the pedal to the metal. When I fully floor the gas pedal, a weird smell of rubber burning/exhaust fumes(?) happens, or maybe a burning rubber... It comes through the A/C vents and if I have the windows down it's worse. But the vehicle drives great and is in great mechanical condition.
Took it in for an oil change today and the toyota specialist said it's not an exhaust leak for sure because he checked.
But I don't know. This is my first toyota and I'm unsure of what it could be. I haven't driven much after the oil change so maybe it's gone now, but I'm not sure what it could possibly be. But it only occurs when I really open the throttle and really redline her. Which I dont do often, but just sometimes for the heck of it. haha...any help is appreciated.
