HELP!!!! I'm on vacation and the AC is always on with the blower

I have the same issue as this thread
First post! Odd A/C prob...won't turn off! A/C experts?

I got my truck back from the shop cause the clutch fan pulley bearing started making noise. the shop fixed that.

I didn't pick it up, I'm on vacation and had family pick it up on there way home from work. I'm from AZ, visiting UT headed to CA through NV...

the Family Member who drove it back said the AC wasn't working, the shop didn't know if it was working before they got it or not (which it was, also the shop is 40 miles away). well short story I got it to work by replacing the 10AMP fuse behind the glove box... easy fix no point in running to shop. BUT

the AC compressor is staying on when the blower motor is running. with the AC switch on or off, it keeps blowing cold. it's in the normal position, (not defrost) we haven't needed to drive it much since ariving but we are leaving monday. and I want to know what's the worse that can happen.

OH and the AC will stay it's coldest unless we run the heater (moving it deeper into the 'hot' temp) which i suspect it not good on gas nor the compressor working so hard.

the idle does move down when AC on, then back up.

Please help!!! need help!!!

update:

well spent some time try'n to figure it out...

~both AC relay's work, they click like normal and neither are 'stuck' on
~the AC toggle switch works as the light turns on and off
~the compressor turns on/off with the blower, so it's not 'always on'
~I don't think it's going to be under dash anymore, just the 10A fuse that burst, I honestly think it could be under the hood, recently had a shop replace clutch fan pulley because of bearing noise, it's possible they messed with something they didn't need to.
~I think if we toggle the blower on/off we won't 'overcharge' the cold side, downside is the cold side won't have air pass over it to get rid of more cold, maybe using vent @ 65+ will pass enough air to keep air flowing at least, I'm afraid of it freezing over. anyone know where the 'heater core' is related to the AC core... example, air pass though the AC then the heater or the other way around?

check the wiring at the a/c compressor. its possible they might have shorted some wires when doing the fan clutch repair.

the fuse blew once during the repair so it must have shorted to ground at one point. the wire could now be exposed and touching something it shouldnt keep the compressor on.

the confusing part is that when the blow motor is turned off, the compressor turns off as well. if it was me and it happen after the repair, your gonna have to retrace the repair and see how they might have messed up. should always returned to the last repair if something isnt right is what i learned from my experience with fixing cars

off vacation

made it back to AZ last week, the AC blower did slow down but we just turned it off for 5 min then it cam back strong. when slowed it sounded like it was still blowing. had a shop look at it before heading off, they said the AC compressor was cycling, so that's good, just gotta figure out what's wrong.

someday we will finish vacation... I didn't get enough.

Sounds like your pressure switch is stuck closed and isn't allowing the compressor to cycle.
