HELP!!! Installing t1809 and it doesn't fit!??

I am in the middle of install and get to the point where I am going to screw in the new head unit and put everything back together and it doesn't fit into the hole!! The bracket that attaches to the head unit that holds the screws in place to the car has a place up top that sticks out and that is not letting the HU go into the compartment. My stock HU has two screws holding it in place and the Scion one is built for 4 screws to hold it into place. :redbrick:

posted this once but I deleted cuz I thought I was wrong. But now I think I was right again..

Can't you take the silver bracket off of your 4r HU and put that bracket in place of the scion bracket?

My JBL HU has those same 4 screw holes on the side but the metal mounting bracket is different.

I did a swap with the T1807, which is different, but I didn't have any issues. If I recall correctly I removed the brackets from the Scion H/U, took the brackets off the 4runner H/U and attached them to the Scion H/U. The screw holes from the 4runner mounting brackets should line up perfectly with the sides of the Scion H/U. Hope that's the case. Good luck

Edit...gaterose beat me.

Thanks guys, I was on my lunch break and was in a hurry and didn't think about swaping the brackets... DUH. I'll let you know how it goes when I finish it later.
