Help installing Toytec lift kit. Lancaster Pa. Area

I'm from the Lancaster P.A area and have a 2002 4runner. Didn't know if there was anyone out there with the knowledge willing to help me out. I have a garage with tools and a drive way to work in. I have a toytec boss lift kit and and all the parts for a 231mm tundra brake swap. I am somewhat knowledgeable around the 4runner but never did a lift swap or big brake swap so any help would be great!

I've been watching some install videos doesn't seem to hard. I may try it myself some weekend. The only way to learn is to just try it out learn from your mistakes. May take a couple more hours. I'll just have to get my panhard drop welded when i take it for a alignment.

It is really simple. I think your hardest parts will be fitting the new coil over in because the control arms want to go up where you need them down.

To help make it super easy! Disconnect the sway bar links on both sides. And use the factory jack and place it on the upper control arm and the upper part of the fender well. Start cranking the jack open and it will push the control arms down to get your new coil over in.

As for the rear springs. They can be a ***** to get in. Take you time because that part of the job takes more muscle than brains unlike the front is just brains.
 
Some of the nuts and bolts look pretty rusty. I plan on spraying PB Blast and cleaning them up before doing the install. If i do manage to snap something is that something you can get at the hardware store or do you have to go to a dealership?

I really don't foresee any problems with breaking anything.

Front:
The 3 nuts on the top of the strut tower can get bad so be sure to spray them and or wire brush the threads before you try to take the nut off.

The lower bolt and but are really big so you won't break that.

The rear just takes muscle. No real nuts or bolts you need to take off besides away at links. And those are super cheep at parts stores. You can drive without them as well if one or all are broken.
 
Thanks for the Advice! i'll make sure i spray everything and wire bush before i remove anything. Checked out your build thread sweet ride. how do you like the super flexes? Thats what i ordered wit the boss coilovers. I see what you mean by using a jack for the control arms.
 
Oh those superflex are the best all around springs I've ever had. Not stuff like ome and not saggy like stock. You will love them. Your back end will sit high at first but give it a month it will slowly start to settle the springs
 
What tires are you running? I heard some good things of the hankook dynaro MT's, Or the toyo open country AT/II. Toyo's are so much more money
 
about 2 years ago i tried to get a bunch of forum members together from the philadelphia area to have like a maintenance/install day. a lot of interest but none could host it. i know my truck needs alot of tlc hahaha

I second this, the factory jack makes this so much easier. Just beware, it's under some pressure once it's a the right distance so make sure it's on nice and sturdy and keep you head away from the thing. When I was doing mine, I bumped the control arm trying to put the coilover in and the jack shot over my shoulder just missing my face. Close call, but when it was all said and done I managed to bang my head hard enough on the undercarriage while retrieving a socket, to require a staple on my dome. Guess karma had it out for me that day.

As far as the rears good luck, I used a 4-way lug to manhandle the coils on and then rotate them the rest of the way before lowering the body back down to bolt everything else back up.
