HELP! Is my alternator going bad?

A couple of weeks ago my battery light came on... ugh. Luckily I have a scan gauge mounted on my dash so I've been able to monitor the voltage, which up until recently has stayed between 13.6-13.8 volts. Over the last couple of days the voltage will spike intermittently from 15.7-16.8 volts! Is this an alternator or a bad battery or possibly something else? Some additional info... I had the alternator replaced 50,000 miles/80,000 kms ago as well as the battery at the same time.

Check the battery voltage after it has been sitting...over night.

Alt maybe trying to charge a dead battery.

so I replaced the alternator and it was fine for about 10 minutes and then the battery light came back on... ffs... now I’m thinking it’s a bad ground or possibly something else. Do these trucks have some sort of a voltage regulator?

My battery light came on this morning. Really hoping it’s not the alternator. But I guess time will tell. The light went away after restarting it.
