looking for a thread and have a few questions

saw a thread a few days ago with a pic of a silver 4runner looked to be a '99
with a arb, the pic was of the truck parked on the curb in a residential neighbor hood with some brick homes and trees in the background......

been searching everything with arb in it, so i have to assume the picture was completely unrelated to the thread or at least the thread wasn't about an arb or anything todo with a bumper




with that said i may just go with an arb bumper to be done with it and have it be cheaper.....


i'm very worried how a black arb bumper is going look with my painted to match limited flares and color keyed rear bumper, i'm wondering if i should paint teh bumper silver to match or paint teh flares and rear bumper to match the new black arb.......


suggestions, ideas, i am sooo freaking lost on this, i really think the shrockworks looks the best but it's $$$$ more and weeks away
and since this is an insurance deal the money i save can be spent on sliders or tires or something sweet......dude what would you guys do?

get a not as cool looking bumper with new tires and some extra cash possibly

or since i have the cash get the sweet one, i have all of my money now and am looking to pull the trigger today.......



i may still just have my welder buddy make me one but i can't get any real dimensions to start on the thing, having those basic dims would save me
any from any rework......


so i would rather try and just buy one... but who knows that option is on the table as well

SW is sweet, but so is ARB. If you didn't need anything but a front bumper and had 2-3 months to wait, then get the SW. Otherwise, I'd go for the ARB, especially if you are looking to get tires and sliders. And it would be VERY cool if you paint-matched it.
 
Yeah you always can powder coat it to match. But i think black and silver would look sharp IMO

yeah i'm just worried the only thing black on my whole truck would be the front bumper and not sure how that would lok, i would prefer black and silver i have a massive affection for black and chrome/black and silver...it's like cool forever.

That 4Runner is sick. Love what he did with it. He had a Tacoma at one time, IIRC, and that was sweet, too, but I think I like his 4Runner build better.

Yeah his Taco was an awesome truck, but im diggin his 4runner I wish I could achieve the look hes got. Him and I are goin to Death Valley NP at the end of march cant wait.

oh i know his looks good his and killermikes are the only reasons i'm considering the arb, but a black bumper on a black truck isn't the same as what i got you know and on the white truck he has the side trim

like it doesn't look so hot in this pic.....

i was trying to find a photo and that definatly a good one, i need to talk to haddix i think, the side view of that bumper kind sucks.... or am i wrong,....

Haha Yeah i guess some angles look weak but then others look pretty damn gnarl. It would be cool to have some extra cash for other goodies in addition to a bumper. But like my friend had his ARB powder coated silver and it looks damn good.

Hmm good thought. Not sure if thats only available for the deluxe or sahara only or what. Doesnt ARB distribute out of WA?

Edit* distribute out of Renton, WA I wonder if you can get a cheap deal ive heard they sell scratched or whatever damaged units pretty cheap.

yeah if i go arb i'm just going to have my brother in law order it and pick it up from the plant in renton.....
 
just pulled the trigger so picking it up tomorrow :banana:

that one pic you posted of haddix's truck was teh final thing that made me decide going this way, thanks alot man i've seriously been losing sleep over this,
i always freak out over spending more then like $200 on an item, so thanks for dealing with my neurotic/***** attitude when sorting through this stuff, lol
 
I just seen this thread. I was about to go out and take pics for you but seen you bought it. You wont regret it. I promise that. I absolutely love mine.

Haha I know how you feel! cant wait to see it!

I have a growing suspicion that you are like me on making purchases, the worst for me is outdoor gear ahhhh that can drive me nuts. It took me one time 2 weeks to come to a decision on a tent haha. Luckily my sis has the hook up with a bunch of outdoor companies so i get killer deals.
